The company has been established in 1947 by Mr. Th. Van Wamel in a 75 mē shop in the centre of
Beneden-Leeuwen. Its main activity in the beginning years was the repair of all kind of machines and engines for the local
industry. This also included repairs of agricultural
machinery, which leaded in, the mid fifties to the design and manufacture of the company's first product: the "Perfect" rotary orchard
mower, which proved to be a great success.

The first extension took place in 1958; the staff increased in that year to 14
people. Participation in exhibitions and field days both domestic and abroad resulted in trade contacts with dealers and
importers.
In 1960 export sales
started, initially to Northern Germany, soon thereafter followed by other
countries. Another extension became necessary in 1964; a total of 800 mē of new offices, a new parts store and a new spray booth were taken into use in that
year.

During the seventies and the eighties a number of successful new products were added to the "Perfect" program, such as tractor fork
lifts, flail choppers, flail mulchers, brush sweepers, rotary toppers and flail toppers. In those years the company extended both its premises and staff numbers several
times.
Late 1987 initial considerations were made to move from the town centre to an industrial
estate. This resulted in the acquisition of a site of approximately 5 hectares
(appr. 12 acres) and the inauguration in 1991 of a new factory with offices
etc., of a total size of 11.000 mē (appr. 110.000 sqft), that fully complies with current standards regarding working conditions and environment. |

Since 1995 Van Wamel is also manufacturing a complete line of mechanical and electronical grading grading machines for
apples, pears, tomatoes, sweet peppers, mangos, kiwis etc. and peripheral equipment such as bulk bin tippers, water
dumpers, belts etc.
For optimal production and assembling of this equipment line a semi separate factory hall of 2500 mē has been created in 1995.
Most recent product development is a so-called multi mower for the maintenance of roadside
verges, banks, ditch sides, field edges etc. that was introduced in 2000.
The current number of employees is 65 and the company is currently exporting its products to approximately 30 countries all over
the world.
